At first I was thinking I wanted a peppermint type scarf and I found a yarn that was a deep red and white however after making it I wasn't happy with peppermint as a name ( look this week for my peppermint twist slouch hat!) so I went over to the AllFreeCrochet  facebook page  and asked for help naming this! As I was coming up with this pattern I thought of my favorite Spinning princess who pricked her finger on spinning wheel and fell into a deep slumber. So it seemed only fitting to call this Aurora's Shawl. This Shawl is designed to be quick and GREAT for those who haven't tried lace yet!! I used Paton's lace and a size K hook.. Headband time!!! These are headbands I have seen all over the place and at first I thought they were made by having 3 separate chains but after seeing some at a craft fair last week I think is way looks better!! Supplies F crochet hook 4 ply yarn This is a VERY EASY pattern!! Great for a beginner!! To start you will chain 115 chain 20 for the side chain 75-for the mid chain 20-for the side Turn ch1 sc in the first 20 chains, then chain 75, and sct in the last 20chains.  Turn ch1, sc in the first 20, then chain 75, and sc in the last 20 chains. Fasten off and weave in your two ends. In honor of Mother's day I made a cute flower and stem that is easily adaptiable for many uses including, a bookmark, a head band, decoration on a garmet and many other things! I used 4 ply ( loops and thread impeccable in cherry) with a size F hook make a magic circle round 1 ~ chain 5 ( counts as dc and ch 2) *dc, ch2* repeat for a total of 5 spokes ( dc) separated by ch2 spaces. sl into 3rd ch of the first st round 2 ~ ch1 sl st into the ch2 space. 5 dc into next dc ( it will be tight and may feel wrong at first) repeat until back at the begining. sl in chain 2 space, 5dc in each dc.
