All American bag Part 2 CAL

Welcome back to part 2
I used red heart super saver for the blue and red heart with love for the white , its an off white  and I used a J hook

Puff stitch
We start with a magic circle and then pull the loop up
Then we yarn over,
Go under the circle and yarn over
Pull through the circle and yarn over and go back through the circle, yarn over
Pull through ( five loops on the hook) yarn over
Go through the circle and yarn over
Pull through the circle and yarn over and pull through all 7 loops on your hook
Push the loops together and secure your stitch with a chain





Only 6 squares left!!

Puff Center Granny - make 6- round one is white rounds 2-4 are blue

Make a Magic circle or ch 4 and join

Round 1- pull up on the loop ( 1 to 1.5 inch) make a puff stitch chain 2, make a puff stitch , chain 2, make a puff stitch, chain 2, make a puff stitch chain 2 and join.sl to chain 2
Round 2- ch3, 2dc,ch2,3dc in ch2 space,ch1  *3dc,ch2,3dc in next ch space, ch 1* repeat 2 more times join
Round 3- ch 2, 3dc,ch2,3dc chain 1, 3dc in ch1 spot,ch 1 *3dc,ch2,3dc ch1 in ch 2 spot, 3dc ch 1 in ch1 spot,* repeat two more times and join. 
Round 4 ch 2, 3dc,ch2,3dc chain 1, 3dc in ch1 spot,ch 1, 3dc in next ch 1 spot ch1, *3dc,ch2,3dc ch1 in ch 2 spot, 3dc ch 1 in ch1 spot,3 dc, ch1 in next ch1 spot* repeat 2 more times and join. weave in and knot you tail.

* if the puff stitch start is too hard try it out with this as round 1

Round 1 of tradtional granny
make a magic circle or chain 4 and join
ch3,2dc,ch2,3dc,*3dc,2ch,3dc* repeat 2 more times and join.

Thread Cross Bookmark

I used Aunt Lydia's Crochet thread and a size D hook. Make a magic circle Round 1 Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2 and join. Sides and top of cross Ch3 2dc, ch2, dc3 in any ch2 sp. Turn and *sl to ch2, ch3,2dc, ch2,3dc. *Turn and repeat * repeat everything in this step 3 more times. Cut thread and weave in ends at the ends of the sides. Bottom of the cross When you get to the last side repeat the * section 2 more times for a total of 4 shells for the bottom and 2 shells for the sides not including the center. On the top of the cross attach yarn and chain 26, skip the first 5 and sl to the first chain. Then I added a tassel. Easy simple no shaping stocking ornament

Step 1 This is the star stitch but you can make these any size and any stitch just make it in this shape. The above sample has 19 star stiches on the bottom ( 2 rows plus beginning hdc row)and reduces to 10 star stiches ( 3 rows) step 2 turn so the right sides are facing each other, and sew them together like the above picture,. isdsjfklajlkdsjc step three turn right side out! attach a chain 5 if desires so you can hang it. I am making about 30 of these for my 6 year old to hand out as Christmas gifts at school with mini candy canes in them!
