This is to show you step by step how to make a puff stitch when crocheting in the round. I am using Loops and Thread's Necessities in soft butter a size J hook. However it doesn't matter what yarn or hook you use for learning a new stitch.
We start with a magic circle and then pull the loop up
Then we yarn over
Go under the circle and yarn over
Pull through the circle and yarn over and go back through the circle, yarn over
Pull through ( five loops on the hook) yarn over
Go through the circle and yarn over ( almost done)
Pull through the circle and yarn over and pull through all 7 loops on your hook
Push the loops together and secure your stitch with a chain
Don't worry if your stitch doesn't look exactly like this. When I teach this stitch in classes it takes a good deal of my beginner students some practice with getting the loops all the same size!
