All American Granny bag CAL step 1

Now this step may take you a while and that's okay! Remember you don't have to submit a photo via email to until July 5th to be entered in the contest!!   Please note this contest was for the year 2013 here is the winner! I hope you all still enjoy the pattern!

Don't make the blue and white square yet because it is a different pattern! Also note all granny squares are 4 rounds.

For this step you need , your J hook ( or hook you prefer) and 1 ball of red 4 play yarn, and 1 ball of White 4 ply yarn

You will need to make
9  Red 4 round double crochet solid granny squares
6 White 4 round double crochet solid granny squares

If you know how to make them, go ahead and check post 2 on 6-12

Basic 4 round granny
make a magic circle or chain 4 and join

Round 1 - ch3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch2 ,3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2 join sl to next corner.

Round 2 -4 ch 3, dc, ch2,2dc, dc in each of the next stitches, *dc2 ( in ch2spot) ch2,dc2, dc in each of the next stitches* repeat 2 more time for a total of 4 sides for every round.

every time you chain 2 that is the corner. where you dc in each stitch that is a side

suggested lengths _
Woman's s/m ~18 shells
l/xl ~20 shells
Mans~ 23 shells
child~ 11-15 ( 11 fits most five year olds)

sew the 2 ends together and weave in your tail at least 4 inches worth so it will not come undone.

Christmas spirit Scarf, This yarn and scarf makes me think of the holidays!

This scarf make me want to go out and sing carol with sipping warm apple cider! make it in other colors for other looks! It the white variation it looks sweet and delicate! What color will you make it in?

This is a cute lacy scarf which is extremely quick and easy to make!
I started with a foundation dc here are the instructions in case you need them

 Row 1 - Start with a foundation Dc row of 13 ( if you would like a wider scarf just keep the number odd and you can add as many as you like)

Row 2-turn ch2, 1dc in the first dc, skip 1, 2dc in the next, skip 1, 2 dc in the next,skip 1, 2dc in the next, skip 1 2dc in the next, skip 1, 2dc in the next, skip 1, 2 dc in the last dc of the row

Row 3 until the the last row- turn ch 2, 1 dc in the first, *skip 1, 2dc in the next* repeat until the end of the row.
I added fringe, but this also looks great with a ch3 sl border
