Chiq 3 strand headband

Headband time!!! These are headbands I have seen all over the place and at first I thought they were made by having 3 separate chains but after seeing some at a craft fair last week I think is way looks better!!
Supplies
F crochet hook
4 ply yarn
This is a VERY EASY pattern!! Great for a beginner!!

To start you will chain 115

chain 20 for the side

chain 75-for the mid

chain 20-for the side

Turn ch1 sc in the first 20 chains, then chain 75, and sct in the last 20chains.

Turn ch1, sc in the first 20, then chain 75, and sc in the last 20 chains. Fasten off and weave in your two ends.

If you want to make this smaller adjust the pattern by reducing the count for the mid section

A basic child size would be

Ch 20 for the side ( for a small child you could do 15 here)

Chain 35- for the mid

Ch 20- for the side

Also changing the hook size or yarn size is a very easy way to make the headband bigger or smaller. There is no wrong way here what ever you like is perfect. Add only two strands or do 5 strands you be the designer.

I added a flower to mine

I followed this basic flower pattern but feel free to use your favorite flower, or shape

Using any yarn or hook size to obtain the size you want

Start with a magic circle

Round 1-ch 5 ( 3 for your first dc and 2 chains) dc, chain 2 * repeat until you have 10-12 dc and chains ( depending you how big you want you flower) Slip stitch

Round 2-ch 1 ( in chain 2 space) *hdc, 2 dc, hdc sl, ch 1* Repeat in each ch2 space

Experiment with the stitches and see what type of flowers you have.

for small petals I do( * sc, hdc, sc, sl ch1*)

for big pointy ones (* hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sl nd ch1*)

Thread Cross Bookmark

I used Aunt Lydia's Crochet thread and a size D hook. Make a magic circle Round 1 Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2 and join. Sides and top of cross Ch3 2dc, ch2, dc3 in any ch2 sp. Turn and *sl to ch2, ch3,2dc, ch2,3dc. *Turn and repeat * repeat everything in this step 3 more times. Cut thread and weave in ends at the ends of the sides. Bottom of the cross When you get to the last side repeat the * section 2 more times for a total of 4 shells for the bottom and 2 shells for the sides not including the center. On the top of the cross attach yarn and chain 26, skip the first 5 and sl to the first chain. Then I added a tassel. Easy simple no shaping stocking ornament

Step 1 This is the star stitch but you can make these any size and any stitch just make it in this shape. The above sample has 19 star stiches on the bottom ( 2 rows plus beginning hdc row)and reduces to 10 star stiches ( 3 rows) step 2 turn so the right sides are facing each other, and sew them together like the above picture,. isdsjfklajlkdsjc step three turn right side out! attach a chain 5 if desires so you can hang it. I am making about 30 of these for my 6 year old to hand out as Christmas gifts at school with mini candy canes in them!
