this is is an intermediate pattern ( when using changes yarn, if you use a standard 4ply this would be a advanced beginner - in order to complete this pattern you should be able to crochet consistent size Double Crochet and Single Crochet

Chain 44

* this will be the 2 times the width of the final clutch, so if you want a smaller one or larger one adjust the chain length. *
Multiple of 14+2

Row one

***the first row starts and ends on an sc. check you counts if you do not end on an sc.
Row 2 and all even rows
turn, chain 3 ( counts as first dc) 3dc into the sc, *skip the first 3dc of the shell, sc into the 4th dc of the shell, skip the next 3 dc, work 7dc into the sc* repeat until the end. however on your last shell only work 4 dc then turn

For My clutch I did 14 rows total I then folded it in half and sew the bottom and the side leaving the the wavy top open.

Turn it right side out and you have a clutch!!!

Hooking on Hump day
Christine an Editor for Stitch and Unwind and AllFreeCrochet Saw this clutch and came up with a fun name for the listing on the afc site! Seaside Shell Clutch  This had me thinking so I took out some Red Heart super savor scarps and a red heart with love and made this sample up
What a cute bag you could make by just changing every 2 rows! Also if you use left overs from your stash the bag would be very cheap to make!!!
